Although 'The Phantom' probably won't be made into another feature film for a long time I keep thinking that if I were to make the movie I would want Clive Owen to the play the part. So out of curiosity a took a photo of Clive from the internet and using Photoshop I made a conceptual design based how the Ghost Who Walks should be portrayed. He should look intimidating and scary but needs to be an all round nice guy. Clive Owen is just the guy to do it.

Personally I think Matthew McConaughey would have been a good choice. He is good in those cheesy action movies, with a great sense of fun, but at the same time he is a solid actor. Watch Sahara then Reign of Fire (I didn't even know it was the same guy at first), then blend the two characters. He has the right look and diversity. Much as I like Clive Owen he just doesn't look like the Phantom to me and I don't know if he could pull off the character just right.
